Talking Points | Hey, What's Your Shirt Mean? 
" In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins." 1 John 4:10 

Phew! So first, what does propitiation mean? It's a fancy way of saying that by dying on the cross, Jesus took the penalty of our sins, which opened the way for reconciliation with God. Jesus "put away" our sin by making that sacrifice for us! 

Love came down! God loves us enough that He sent His own son... His only son...down to this earth so that we may have eternal life. Wow!

God is perfect love. And each day, we can shout our praise to Him for sending His (perfect) son so that we may live. This can particularly speak to those you know who may feel beaten down, worthless, or otherwise downtrodden. Remind them that LOVE CAME DOWN for them! Remind them that by virtue of being given this gift alone, it's obvious that God sees their worth and loves them so.
