But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. --Matthew 6:33 NKJV

Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God. What does the world have us seeking? Maybe we seek wealth and riches, fame, intellect, or fun? Or, maybe we genuinely do seek good things, things that will help others. But even still, even if the things we seek are truly good... are they what we should be seeking FIRST? 

Earth is just our temporary home. We are each placed here with a unique purpose, and that purpose is to serve and help further the kingdom of God. To discover our purpose, God should be at the center of our lives. Those around us should see this! They should see us loving and serving, they should see us praying and sharing our testimonies, they should see that our top priority is the furtherance of God's kingdom -- not our own fleshly desires

I know that through prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and earnestly seeking God, our own desires should transform to match the "kingdom mindset" He wants us to pursue. In other words, God can transform our hearts through prayer, and He can transform them to put His will and His kingdom above all (kingdom minded). 

"Kingdom minded" may be something good to share when someone is going through a rough time -- remind them that our eyes should be on the eternal rather than this fleeting world. Invite them to earnestly seek God, to seek God's will for them here on earth. Remind them that the troubles of this world are temporary, the kingdom is eternal. Our time here on earth is to serve a role in furthering that kingdom.
